Sketches

...Everything started with simple lines, curves and scrapes.  I even began with vague and esoteric lines that miraculously formed a shape.  But the first things that got my attention were:  Shapes, Strokes, Textures, Shadows and so on.  It became an obsession on how I could be able to transform it into my own sketches. Every day I draw anything not because I want to be the best, but for the reason that it had become an expression.  Without it, I would be adrift...

During my intermediate year, I became friends with two kindred spirits who introduced me to this kind of art.  It was in this day and age that I became aware of charcoal and brush techniques and later proved useful to me as I embarked further into a new visage of my artistic inclinations as an adult.  Thus, became my profession.  Some call this Still-Life Sketching but this type of art has always been my foothold, my core being.

Special mention to my High School friends, Ms. Leah Bandong and Ms. Zillah Credo-Bucay for sharing what they knew then and imparted their knowledge  altruistically.
